I can help you improve the operations of your business. We will start by identifying the measures that lead to your success of your business operations along three dimensions: cost, quality, and delivery (or timeliness). A term some use is Balanced Score Card. With a baseline, i.e., actual data on how your business is dong, on these three dimensions, we can model the processes of your business to understand what changes will improve a measure, say response time, driven by facts and data, without affecting the other measures of your business. Most measures for business operations have significant variation (randomness) in them over time. Making changes should be based on a understanding the root causes of problems. It is important to not be led to wrong conclusions and to not react to data that is noise (or just random). Some very simple tools, using Excel spreadsheets, can help here.
